We all have a million things to do right? Where will you find the time? I’m sure many of you find yourselves asking these very questions. I sometimes can’t sleep at night because I am thinking of all the things I need to do or want to do. I don’t even have kids yet!!!! Parents, you can laugh hysterically now!! I know this is only the beginning of my super busy life.
As I am growing older, living a balanced life has become more and more important to me. I have noticed the happier I make myself, not only do I feel better, but I look better too! I am studying in a nutrition program (IIN) at the moment that I love and one thing the program really emphasizes is that you can eat all the kale in the world and work out for hours on end, but if your life is not in balance, good food and exercising will not matter.
In fact, people with balanced lives who eat terribly and never work out have a better chance at happiness than health nuts. So what does living balanced mean exactly? It means something different for everyone, but we all have our basic needs. I encourage you to write down at least 5 things you feel you need to take care of yourself and actually do them. Schedule them in your agenda as if it were an important meeting. People would make fun of me if they read my agenda because I write things like: take a bath, get a manicure or go to bed by 11pm. However, it is important!! You are very important.
We all live crazy, chaotic lives and it seems we always have millions of things to do on a daily basis. We tend to neglect ourselves. For example, I bet you checked your Facebook today right? Your e-mail? Watched tv? We all do things everyday that can possibly distract us from what we could be doing. What are some things you do that distract you?
Some people may argue that doing things for yourself is selfish or they don’t have time to care for themselves because they are too busy caring for others.The truth is, we are capable of taking the best care of others when we care for ourselves. If our needs are not being met, then we get stressed and our inner light fades. When we are bright and vibrant we can help others with love and be an inspiration.
Find the time to do the things that really matter to you. Stop procrastinating and put YOU in your schedule. You are so important!!! Be the best version of you to give to others. Not only will the people around you notice the difference, but you will glow and feel better all around when you take really good care of yourself. I am taking a bubble bath tonight because I need it, I deserve it and it’s in my agenda… so it’s a date 😉 Enjoy your life!
