Let’s face it! We live in a busy, fast paced world where we juggle work, home and relationships. Some days are harder than others. Some days you’re running late for work, It’s pouring rain and you forgot your umbrella. Other days the sun is shining, you’re singing and farting unicorns and rainbows. You never know what each day holds, but we do have a say and we do have a power. While we can’t change the weather, we can change our reactions. We all have a negative pattern that is stubborn and old that we play over and over. There is no benefit to these stubborn old habits so why oh why do we keep doing the same thing over and over??
I used to cry every single time I got lost in my car. YES! CRY! Ridiculous right? A grown woman crying in her car because she can’t find her way. Because crying is going to really help me focus on figuring it out right? WRONG! I finally have broken myself of this embarrassing habit, but this is not to say I am cured. Still today at 32 when I find myself running extremely late or worse completely lost, I feel the tears wanting to come and I want to explode.
This is what I’ve learned. It is not rocket science. I don’t cry, I don’t freak out, and I don’t scream F@*K! If I am late, I am late. If I am getting soaked I am going to get soaked and if I am lost, I am lost, but I won’t be lost forever. Where there is a will there is a way. I’m not exactly sure when I came up with my own personal mantra “Too Blessed To Be Stressed” but it works. Anytime things come up for me and I feel tense and stressed I repeat this mantra out loud. I don’t care how crazy I look. We are all blessed. We all have a choice. Don’t feed in to the anger of others. Instead stay cool as a cucumber and ALWAYS remember you are Too Blessed To Be Stressed. Have a Blessed day!
